Dr. Amanda Pitcher was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. She attended the University of Western Ontario where she achieved a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Following this, Dr. Pitcher spent a year working in Montreal at the Douglas Hospital in a Psychiatry research lab before attending medical school at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. After graduating in 2008, she completed a residency program in Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Pitcher enjoys travel and has done locum work in Wellington, New Zealand. She has been living and working in Victoria since 2014 and enjoys music, being outdoors, knitting and spending time with her two daughters.
Dr. Pitcher provides treatment for individuals aged 17 to 74, and specializes in mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma- and stressor-related disorders such as PTSD, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. Additionally, she offers treatment for ADHD but does not conduct ADHD assessments. A MD or NP referral is required to see Dr. Pitcher.
